RELEASE INFORMATION:
– Tobacco card premium.
– Each card measure approximately 1 1/2” x 2 3/4″, which was the standard size for “n” series sets. [Sample images]
– 50 card set released by United States cigarette manufacture, Allen & Ginter Tobacco Company in Richmond, VA. Set spotlights World Champion athletes from 17 different sports. The front of the card shows an artist drawn representation of each athlete, while the back of the card is unnumbered and contains a listing of all the ‘subjects’ in the series.
– One card was given as a free premium with each pack of “Allen and Ginter’s Cigarettes”. Back of cards read “One Packed In Each Box Of Ten Cigarettes”.
– All 50 card images were made into a 14 page full-color lithographic premium album [Front of album] [Back of album] produced by Lindner, Eddy & Clauss, N.Y. An album could be obtained through mail order by sending in coupons distributed in Allen & Ginter Tobacco Company cigarette packs.
